Information on Teething Molars

Teething patters vary greatly from one child to the next however the vast majority of babies will sprout their first teeth between four and seven months of age. Teeth will generally appear one at a time, although several can come in simultaneously, and they tend to come in a specific order.

The two bottom teeth are generally the first to come in, then the top middle teeth, then the ones along the side and the back. The teething molars will probably start to appear around the child’s first birthday, although again this varies and so they can appear anytime before or after.

Teething Molars

The teething molars are generally the most painful for the child, just as they are in adults, and so when your child begins the teething molars process, you are obviously going to want to have some form of treatment or help available for them in order to best relieve the pain.

There are several different things that you can do to relieve the pain of teething molars, one in particular being to massage your baby’s sore and swollen gums. Make sure that your hands are clean, and then gently rub back and forth over their gums. This works because you are alleviating the pain by equalizing the pressure by rubbing down to the pain of the teeth that are pressing up from underneath their gums.

You can also wet a facecloth and then put it in the freezer for about twenty minutes and then let your child gum on it, as the cold will relieve the pain by remotely numbing the gum area. If your child is especially young when the teething process beings, then you may not want to freeze the facecloth completely because it will be too cold, so a better idea is to just run it underneath cold water for a couple minutes, squeeze out the excess water and then let them gum on this.

There are also various different medicines and alternative treatments that you can use, but whichever route you decide to go you want to make sure that you discuss it with your doctor first, especially if it is a type of medicine that you are considering, so that they can approve it and you can rest assured in knowing that you are not going to be causing any harm to your baby.

Teething is a difficult time for both the child and the parents, however you can make it easier by using the various forms of teething help that are available.
