What to use for Teething Help

Teething is a very difficult time for both child and parent, as it is hard to see your child go through so much pain, especially when they are so young, and then add onto the fact that they are much harder to get to sleep and to calm down because they are upset about the pain that they are going through. This means sleepless nights and restless days, and it is definitely a phase that you should be prepared for.

However, there is teething help available which will help you to soothe and calm your baby during this tough time, and so the teething help related options are definitely ones that you should take into consideration and remember for when that time finally comes in your baby’s life.

Teething Help

The first thing is to make sure that you watch out for telltale signs of teething, and this includes bright red cheeks, fever, unusual irritability, and restlessness. You also want to look for inflamed gums and a possible mild rash around the mouth, which is typically caused by drooling due to the increased amount of saliva in the child’s mouth.

One of the best teething help ideas is to gently massage your baby’s swollen gums with your fingers, as this can help to relieve a lot of the pressure and pain. You can also freeze some washcloths and let the baby gum on them, although if the child is particularly young when they start teething you will not want to fully freeze the washcloth, just run cold water over it or stick it in the freezer for just a few minutes.

You can also purchase actual teething help products, such as teething rings or other teething toys, and these are specifically designed for your child to gum on while their teeth are breaking through the gums, and actually help the teeth to come through quicker.

You can also get some homeopathic teething tablets or liquid, as many people find that this method helps best to ease their child’s discomfort. However if you do use any type of teething liquid or gel, you need to make sure that you do not use too much because it can be dangerous to fully numb your child’s mouth and throat, as this can result in them choking.

There are many other options as well that you have when it comes to helping your little one through the difficult teething process, and although it will still be hard to have to watch them go through this, using the various forms of help that are available will make it much easier on both of you.
